TRUE Hockey becomes official skate supplier of Canadians (1)

The Carleton Place Canadians and TRUE Hockey announce the two will be forming a partnership beginning in the 2020-21 season to have TRUE be the official skate supplier of the Canadians.

“We’re believers that we have the best custom skate on the market today with many years of history behind it, dating back to Scott Van Horne and VH skates,” said Corey Gregory, Trade Marketing Manager for TRUE Hockey. “We’re going to educate the players of what we think are the benefits of our skate. Personally, I think that’s the most important thing we can do right now.”

The TRUE skates have made their way to the NHL with players like Mitch Marner (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Ryan Johansen (Nashville) being some of the players to sport the brand’s gear. There has been a long list of NHL players to have used the TRUE skates, including the likes of Carey Price, Dustin Byfuglien and a long list of other NHLers.

The partnership between TRUE and the Canadians is one that provides TRUE to support someone local, with many people in their Ottawa office based out of the Ottawa Valley, added Gregory.

“The history of the team is fascinating, it’s one of the historic franchises in junior hockey dating back over 40 years (to the Jr B Kings). The team has been great at the way they develop players, and I’m almost more impressed at the way the team has moved players on to college careers,” Gregory said.

Gregory explained he feels the development of players to the next level provides valuable life experiences “as they come up through the game and anything we can do to support that,” was how the interest in partnering with the Canadians came to be.
